Check Point® Software Technologies Ltd., the worldwide leader in securing the Internet, today announced that its Asia Pacific business has achieved substantial growth in the first half of 2010, driven by its continuous commitment to innovation, excellence and customer satisfaction. During its annual Check Point Experience (CPX) event held in Singapore early August, Check Point demonstrated the success of its market-focused strategy of providing “More, Better and Simpler Security” to customers worldwide, and unveiled new breakthrough technology innovations that continue address businesses’ evolving security challenges.

“Asia Pacific is arguably the most dynamic economic powerhouse in the world where we see a very strong demand for reliable IT security protections,” commented Itzack Weinreb, vice president of Asia Pacific sales of Check Point. “In this region, like in the rest of the world, Check Point will continue to invest, innovate and forge its leadership in the network, endpoint, and management security areas. We will continue to strengthen our security portfolio and expand our revolutionary Software Blade Architecture to offer customers more, better and simpler security solutions,” he said.

Based on its unique Software Blade Architecture, Check Point empowers businesses with the true flexibility that they need to meet their ever-changing security requirements. The extensible architecture allows them to select the exact security protections that they need and combine them into a single, centrally managed gateway. Today Check Point offers more than 30 software blades, including: Intrusion Prevention System (IPS), Check Point Data Loss Prevention (DLP) Software Blade and Application Control Software Blade which secures and manages the use of thousands of Web 2.0 applications in the enterprise.

“The flexibility offered by the Software Blade Architecture approach, coupled with its competitive pricing, is likely to be a key differentiator for Check Point against similar offerings by its competitors,” commented Edison Yu Industry Manager at Frost & Sullivan in Asia Pacific. “Such an approach can only work with a vendor who is committed to constantly improving their security offerings and who also has an effective management system to cater to the growing coverage of the security platform. Based on what we have seen from Check Point thus far, it is fair to say that the vendor has scored well on both,” he said.

“We are excited to see that the Software Blade architecture has been well received by our clients across multiple verticals,” added Matthew Gyde, General Manager, Network Integration and Security at Datacraft Asia. “The software blade architecture enables Datacraft to easily tailor managed solutions that address our clients’ demands in a rapidly changing security environment. Being Check Point’s key strategic partner in the APAC region, we are committed to bringing the Software Blade Architecture to all of our clients and helping them address their security pain points.”

Additional breakthrough security solutions introduced by Check Point this year and based on the Software Blade Architecture include the Check Point Series 80 Appliance, designed for remote and branch offices; the Multi-Domain Management software blade that provides businesses with a virtual security management solution; or Security Gateway Virtual EditionTM (VE) that protects virtual environments from internal and external security threats. Another remarkable product released this year and attesting to Check Point’s innovative vision is Check Point Abra, a unique pocket-sized security solution that enables mobile workers in Asia Pacific and remote employees around the world, to literally carry their office in their pocket and securely connect to the corporate network from any host PC.

Check Point’s internationally acclaimed products have received over ten industry and analysts awards across Asia Pacific since the beginning of the year. For more information on Check Point’s products, visit http://www.checkpoint.com/products/index.html.

“It is not often that a vendor’s marketing message is so closely aligned to the reality of what is being delivered through the products or the elaborated strategy,” observed Ang Poon Wei, Market Analyst at IDC Asia/Pacific after attending CPX.

“Today Check Point really is the one player in the security industry that can ‘walk the talk’, which is key to our success in the Asia Pacific market,” concluded Weinreb.
